When most Christian couples get married, they choose to have this special ceremony at their church. Why at a church? Because they believe their commitment to each other is sacred and they want God to be their #1 witness.
A regular place for families and friends to gather is at their church, so when a couple gets married, this is the place they choose to bring everyone together. A Christian couple hopes that all the prayers from their loved ones will bring them better luck in their marriage.
Once the religious part of the wedding is over, does the couple still stay close to their church? Is the presence of God still close to the new couple’s life? Even though they choose to get married as close as possible to God, it does not mean that they will keep God very close in their lives.
With today’s busy life styles, most couples hardly make time for church, God, or prayers. They don’t recognize how important God’s presence in their lives.
What happens when a couple is having problems? Who do they go first for help? God, of course. How do you bring God into your life? First of all, God has always been there, it’s the couple who has not felt his presence; however, the best way to get close to God again is through prayer.
It’s never too late to bring prayer back into your life and your relationship. God is always ready to welcome us at any time. The regular practice of praying will guide your relationship in the right path of love and harmony.
An important starting point to save a marriage is through prayer:
-It leads you in the right direction
-It guides us in the right direction
-It improves your relationship with each other and with God
-It brings harmony in your relationship
-It grants us a new approach and restores our spirit
-It enriches our capacity to love and help others
-It encourages us to work hard and be our best
Even if prayer has not been present in your life, it’s never too late. Establishing a daily routine right before dinner in which both of you join in to say a short prayer can be a good start. The power of prayer will generate a new eager desire on both of you to work out your issues and a will produce a positive impact in your relationship.
